There's a Tofu Festival this Saturday and Sunday if you're interested.
I have never been to one but it seems like a Tofu-centric celebration of
some sort .... ??

Here are some mini-shots from Sunday for those who had to miss this event...! It was fun. Food was excellent although abit pricey (i.e. 3 bucks for a sampler size of an unagi bowl, 2 bucks for the tofu-okonomiyaki--see photo). What I thought was peculiar .. there was no mention of the Obon Memorial -- traditional holiday when everyone returns to their parents' homes to pay respect to their ancestors. I also unexpectedly met JapanRecordsGuy who had a mini booth at Weller Court, just a few steps away from the Marukai store. You can visit his store online at japanrecords.com or in person in the Ebisu Plaza of Fountain Valley (Brookhurst and Garfield).
